Sergio Aguero scored three times as Manchester City defeated Chelsea FC 3-0 at Stamford Bridge. It was another disappointing display from the Blues.

It was another poor showing from Chelsea FC as they slumped to a convincing loss at the hands of Manchester City. Sergio Aguero hit the back of the net three times to give the visitors a 3-0 win as they continue their push to secure Champions League qualification. Here are some hot takes from the contest:

  • Not a great day at the office for Baba Rahman. The Ghanaian started in the left-back spot but probably should have been left back on the bench. He is young, so you can’t be too harsh on him, but he does appear to be lacking the required technical nous at Premier League level.
  • Kevin De Bruyne is class. The former Chelsea player (you know he was sold by Chelsea/the Blues got rid of him a few seasons ago/Jose Mourinho deemed him surplus to requirements/he was once a Chelsea player) showed that he is the real deal, being instrumental to some of City’s key moves.
  • Thibaut Courtois returned to form, then returned to the dressing room early. The Belgian also did everyone a favour and spared us another 1 gazillion billion blog posts and articles about how Chelsea should not have sold De Bruyne (in case you didn’t know, De Bruyne used to play for Chelsea but was sold). He kept out a decent effort from the Belgian (who used to play for Chelsea) to save Michael Emenalo some short-term embarrassment.
  • I agree with this guy:
  • Great to see Ruben Loftus-Cheek involved again. He looked good during the first half, but unfortunately disappeared during the second period. Apparently, he was desperately searching for all the offers from other Premier League clubs that he has rejected throughout the years.

  • Samir Nasri has a sh*te haircut.
  • This Sergio Aguero fella is alright, isn’t he? The striker netted three times and showed a lethal touch that any premier European club needs. He could single-handedly win City the Champions League.
  • Nemanja Matic was quite literally the key man last season. This campaign has shown how inept the team is when the Serb is not seemingly doing everyone’s work in the midfield. Conte must keep him, but he will need to be convinced that he can improve. This would depend on him actually playing, by the way.
  • Guus Hiddink forgot that he had seven extra players available on this thing called ‘the bench’. Someone managed to let him know with about 20 minutes left.
  • #StillPrayForConte
  • Roman Abramovich has a phone with a Chelsea badge on the back:
  • Chelsea were so poor that the fans distracted themselves by doing their best impression of the Etihad. By that, I mean that they all went home early, leaving behind a whole lot of empty seats.
  • This season just needs to end already.
