5. Chelsea Show Class

The three goal lead would be a pleasant sight to Chelsea fans, as they showed the class to upstage Bournemouth. Throughout the course of the season, the Blues suffered multiple poor results against teams that they were clearly more talented than on paper. In top level football, upsets will certainly happen, but it became all too familiar for those wearing a Chelsea shirt.

Today, they took an early two goal lead, but got pegged back roughly ten minutes before halftime. It wouldn’t be unusual to expect this year’s Chelsea side to ship another goal and embroil themselves in a dogfight at that point, but they showed the resolve to not allow any more goals, then added two more to the tally. The remaining games left in the season should be all about building momentum for next year, and hopefully they can carry on into the derby with Tottenham.
