Diego Costa took celebrations to the extreme on Saturday when he choked Nemanja Matic after he put Chelsea FC 2-1 up. I don’t know either.

Well, this was bizarre. Diego Costa is renowned for having the proverbial screw loose in his head and this was proven when he choked Nemanja Matic while celebrating Chelsea FC’s second goal.

Nah, I’m serious. Look:

Matic did not look like he was in the mood to celebrate anyway, but Costa decided that the best way to enjoy the moment would be to try to kill his teammate.

Of course, he wasn’t actually trying to kill him (I have to say that before the keyboard warriors get going) but this was one of the more amusing events in the game.

Chelsea continued to be shambolic as they surrendered the lead twice against Sunderland. Sam Allardyce’s men fought to the end and they were rewarded with a 3-2 victory that leaves them in pole position to avoid relegation.

The Blues, meanwhile, put in a performance that once again highlighted the magnitude of the task awaiting Antonio Conte. Fans would like to say that the lacklustre display was due to the fact that the club have nothing to play for, but they have witnessed such a show far too often for this to be the case.

This video is also perhaps an indication of where Costa has gone wrong this season. Costa’s irreverent passion has been directed towards unnecessary squabbles too frequently, while the others have failed to display any sort of enthusiasm themselves.

The forward, meanwhile, will be looking to hit the back of the net over the next week as he warms up for the EUROs. It will be interesting, though, to see whether he returns to Stamford Bridge after the tournament with speculation suggesting that a switch back to Atletico Madrid is on the cards.

There are just two games left and my god will we all be happy when they are done with. Bring on the summer!
