1. Hiddink forced into changes

Interim manager Guus Hiddink had gotten himself into somewhat of a groove recently when it came to picking his match squads. However, due to injury and suspensions he was forced to make a couple of changes ahead of today’s game.

John Terry was missing due to suspension, and may very well have played his last game in a Chelsea shirt. John Obi Mikel would step in as a makeshift center half, as Branislav Ivanovic would also be unavailable for selection.

With Mikel in defense, Nemanja Matic was given the opportunity to finish the season on a strong note in defensive midfield. Pedro would be included in the trio of attacking midfielders while Bertrand Traore stepped in for the injured Diego Costa as the lone forward.

Surely the supporters would be up for the last away game of the season, especially it being against Liverpool. The traveling fans wanted nothing more than to bag three points, no matter who is in the starting eleven.
