Incoming – Paul Pogba

The big fish. Pogba is the best central midfielder in Europe right now and any team in the world would be happy to have him. Chelsea have been chasing Pogba for years and it does seem that the player isn’t against the idea of decamping to West London.

The rumors state that now having won Serie A multiple times Pogba is looking for another challenge and the Premier League might be the place where he finds it. A huge fan of Conte and English football it wouldn’t be too hard to imagine Pogba patrolling Stamford Bridge for years to come.

It does seem as though this would be another signing that marginalises the academy as he is near a carbon copy of our own highly regarded Loftus-Cheek. Regardless, Pogba is the type of talent that you sign if the opportunity arises and figure the rest out later.

This is a transfer that would cost nothing short of £85 million and could be even more than Gareth Bale’s record transfer fee. For some reason I have a gut feeling that this is more likely than has been said simply due to the fact that Roman Abramovich always has a few cards up his sleeve.

Remember when Chelsea signed Hazard? Not a single person in the world thought that would happen. Unfortunately due to the expensive nature of this transfer I believe the Frenchman will stay put but if he were angle for a move I think Chelsea are absolutely in with a fight.
