Chelsea at Euro 2016: players, manager and transfer targets

Antonio Conte
This is the man of the moment for Chelsea fans. Having confirmed that he will start work at Stamford Bridge immediately after Italy’s Euro 2016 campaign, all blue eyes will be on Antonio Conte.
While some are hoping that he can carry his country to glory, others are wishing for a swift exit. Given that the likes of Manchester United, Manchester City and Arsenal have already made big moves in the transfer market, there are fears that Chelsea are being left behind.
Conte has, of course, not been able to focus any appropriate effort on Chelsea recruiting and thus the work is piling up for him. A premature Italian exit will allow him to get stuck in domestically sooner rather than later.
Having said that, such a situation will not fill fans with hope regarding his tactics. A renowned fan of unconventional formations, onlookers will be keen to see whether his methods will translate well to the Premier League.
Italy are not the best team in the tournament and they will struggle to go far. Nonetheless, emerging from Euro 2016’s group of death is a must. Doubts are already surrounding the incoming boss and he must do his best to placate them.
Furthermore, there are several players in the Italy squad that have been linked with a Stamford Bridge switch. The tournament will allow those targets to showcase their quality and their working relationship with Conte.
