Leonardo Bonucci

One of the players with whom Chelsea FC have been linked continuously is Juventus centre-back Leonardo Bonucci. He has, of all the supposed Blues transfer targets, been the one who has demonstrated his value the most. He has also displayed a skill set that is unbelievably needed in the new look Chelsea FC team.

The issue is that he is a 29-year-old and people valuing him around €40-50 million. That is absurd. If Juventus hold out for that price, then Chelsea will simply not be buying.

Having said that, Bonucci fits because of his age and experience. Purchasing another young defender is silly with Andreas Christensen, Kurt Zouma, Jake Clarke-Salter and Fikayo Tomori coming through the ranks. His age and systematic familiarity with the incoming Conte make him a good stop-gap between John Terry and the younger players coming through.

Thus, Bonucci must be pursued should Juventus ask for anything below €30-35 million.
