Jose Bosingwa: 2008-2012

Appearances: 126
Trophies: Champions League, FA Cup (2), Community Shield

Jose Bosingwa signed with Jose Mourinho’s Porto in 2003, and stayed with the domestic side when Mourinho moved to Chelsea in 2004. Bosingwa then accompanied Portugal’s national coach, Luis Felipe Scolari, to Stamford Bridge in 2008 when Scolari began his brief stint at the helm.

Bosingwa showed his versatility in his final run-in for Chelsea, slotting in as center-back alongside Branislav Ivanovic in Chelsea’s second-leg against FC Barcelona in the 2012 Champions League semi-final. Ivanovic’s rise threatened Bosingwa’s place at right-back, but a series of injuries and sendings-off for Gary Cahill and John Terry kept Bosingwa in the starting rotation.
