Florent Malouda: 2007-2013

Appearances: 229
Trophies: Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup (3)

Florent Malouda came to Chelsea as the sort of experienced, proven player that Jose Mourinho was eager to give a regular starting XI role. Mourinho abruptly departed shortly after Malouda’s arrival. The Frenchmen needed several years to adapt to the rotating cast of coaches and solidify his place, hitting his stride in 2009/10 with 33 appearances and 12 goals.

Florent Malouda left the squad under adverse circumstances. After winning the Champions League in 2012, Malouda requested a transfer but refused to sign for any team that would pay him less than he was making at Chelsea.

This closed every possible door and, having passed the point of no return with Chelsea, he spent his final year with the club training with the U21 squad and making no appearances.
