Assistant first-team coach Steve Holland

Steve Holland came to Chelsea in 2009 as the reserve team (now the U21’s) coach, and was promoted after two successful seasons to assistant first-team coach. As one of England’s top developmental coaches, Holland has been England’s U21 assistant coach since 2013.

Along with John Terry, Holland has been the club’s strongest source of continuity through the turmoil and drama of the last five years. He has overseen the training grounds under Andre Villas-Boas, Roberto di Matteo, Rafael Benitez, Jose Mourinho and Guus Hiddink.

Steve Holland is an English footballing ideal: a “one club man” who has quietly amassed a room of trophies by constantly learning, adapting and improving. If there is any justice in this world, some day Steve Holland will have a banner hanging in his honor at Stamford Bridge.
