It’s been a tough week waiting for news to break that the Blues finally signed a new fullback. The Blues held an open practice at Stamford Bridge on Monday. Kenedy and Matt Miazga were notably absent, leading to reports that their loans were imminent. Miazga was rumoured to be on his way to Eintracht Frankfurt, but Frankfurt’s manager publicly disavowed such a loan. So far, neither have made way but there is little reason to expect them in the lineup against West Ham.

Chelsea’s mighty loan army started their Eredivisie and Championship campaigns on the front foot, with several Blues scoring in their debut. Tammy Abraham followed up that opener with a second goal in as many games mid-week.

Papy Djilobodji became the latest ex-Blue to talk about how cavalierly he was dismissed by ex-manager Jose Mourinho. Considering how Mourinho is treating his castaways at Old Trafford – including another ex-Blue, Juan Mata – his treatment of Djilobodji is downright warm and fuzzy.
