Attack

8.5.
He’s back, baby! Man of the match performance from the mercurial Belgian. For the first 75 minutes he offered everything a Blues fan desires. Went quiet for 10 minutes and was subbed off. Blame that tiredness on first game rust.
. W. Belgium. EDEN HAZARD

W. Brazil. WILLIAN . 6.
Had one free-kick on target which was comfortable for Adrian. His corners were a significant improvement on last season, but he was too quiet and offered no threat to the West Ham defence.

7.
Quintessential Costa performance – aggressive, over-the-top and lucky to stay on the pitch… but scores the winning goal. He’ll collect an awful lot of yellow cards for dissent this year and he needs to learn to stop drifting wide. Instead, play the centre-forward role.
. ST. Spain. DIEGO COSTA
