A lot of business has been done on Transfer Deadline Day, with Chelsea in the thick of it. Here is a round-up of the numerous loan deals that have been struck.

There has been a flurry of activity surrounding Chelsea on deadline day. Most of it has to do with movements of the loan army troops. Here is the latest on the loan situation.

The Belgian contingent

Cristian Cuevas

Cuevas rejoined STVV on a season long loan following the time he spent there last season. The LB has been a veteran of the loan army and will be hoping to make this stick.

Islam Feruz

The globe trotting Scot has found a new destination as he joins Matej Delac at RMP Mouscron on a season long deal. Feruz has had a very bad go of it so far at the professional level and hopefully he’ll find some footing here, show a good attitude and enjoy a successful campaign.

More from The Pride of London

The English contingent

Dion Conroy

The 20-year-old defender has been a part of the academy development squad for some time. He won the FA Youth Cup and the old U21 Premier League. He has had some injury issues which he has overcome and he put in a good amount of performances at the U21 level last season. He will be looking to get his first taste of professional football at National League side Aldershot Town. Having joined them on loan until January, he will be hoping to kick on and continue developing.

Nathan Baxter

Nathan Baxter has been at the club since he was 8 years old. He has displayed good shot-stopping skills and an ability to pick out a pass in our recent triumphs at U18/19 levels. The 18-year-old goalkeeper will be joining Ryman Premier Division side Met Police until January as he continues to develop. He has not fully grown into his body and it will be a challenge for him to cope with men’s football.

Jake Clarke-Salter and Charlie Colkett

Both Jake Clarke-Salter and Charlie Colkett have been a key part of Chelsea’s successes at the youth level. Colkett has shown himself to be a classy midfield operator with a divine left foot and incredible vision. Clarke-Salter has blossomed into a solid young defender with great technical and passing ability.

Both players have outgrown the competition on offer at the developmental levels and have been sent on loan to League One side Bristol Rovers. Clarke-Salter got his debut late last season while Colkett resolved his contractual issues this summer and committed his future to the club.

The duo are undoubtedly among the most talented academy products of this golden generation and hopefully they can show their quality at the professional level this season.

The Italian contingent

Juan Cuadrado has rejoined Juventus on a three year loan deal. Yes, you’ve read that right, it is a three year long deal. Don’t worry, though, there is a mandatory buy clause based on appearances and performances.

The 28-year-old will cost Juve €5 million per year on loan and a further €20 million to buy outright with €4 million of add-on bonuses. It is a complicated deal by the looks of it but it is a deal that is satisfactory to all parties involved.

Kenneth Omeruo

Kenneth Omeruo is off to Turkish side Alanyaspor. He also signed a contract extension before heading.

On the first-team side of affairs, David Luiz is on the verge of confirming his return while Marcos Alonso has signed.
