Chelsea are reportedly set to make another offer for former player David Luiz as the transfer deadline approaches and the club becomes more desperate.
UPDATE 16:26 BST: Sky Sports report that David Luiz is in London for his medical.
"David Luiz is getting closer towards a return to Chelsea and is in London for his medical."
Happy Transfer Deadline Day! I hope you’re all appropriately dressed in the most outlandish piece of yellow clothing you have. As the deadline closes in, Chelsea are still without that much-needed defensive arrival. They are now set to make another offer for David Luiz as they look to do business.

News broke yesterday that the Blues had made a surprising attempt to bring the Brazilian back to Stamford Bridge. However, the £32 million offer was not enough and Chelsea are willing to up the stakes.
"Chelsea have had their £32m bid for David Luiz rejected and will go back with another offer before the transfer deadline…The Blues may need to pay close to £40m to seal the return of their former defender. – via Daily Mail"
Chelsea are actually this desperate.
Luiz left the Blues in 2014 for £50 million. Despite possessing all the skill and flair that a Brazilian should bring to the table, his defensive qualities were questionable. A centre-back by trade, Luiz was not that useful and the deal was heralded as a great piece of business by the Blues.
Fast forward two summers and Chelsea are looking to bring him back. Unbelievable, Jeff.

The West Londoners are desperate to sign some backline reinforcements before Big Ben strikes eleven this evening. The club have a lack of depth in defence that could seriously hurt them as the season wears on.
Furthermore, there are concerns surrounding the long-term effects of the knee injury Kurt Zouma suffered. The Frenchman was on track to become one of the Premier League’s leading centre-backs, but his serious injury has cast doubt on whether he can truly fulfill his potential.
At the age of 29, David Luiz will only offer the Blues two or three seasons of meaningful football. However, the club will have to fork out around £40 million for him.
The severity of the situation is solely due to another transfer window of floundering and poor negotiating. Chelsea were trailing several promising defenders, such as Kalidou Koulibaly and Alessio Romagnoli, who represented fantastic investments. They failed to meet valuations and the opportunities have been lost.
Now, Chelsea are being forced to pay well over the odds for a player who can’t really defend. Are you excited? Vent your anger in the comments below!
