Chelsea transfers: Would you swap Cesc Fabregas for Leonardo Bonucci?
Leonardo Bonucci could come to Chelsea in return for cash and Cesc Fabregas, according to the latest reports. Would you do the deal?
Chelsea have been chasing some quality defensive reinforcements for some time now. Leonardo Bonucci has been one of their prime targets but the Blues have not been able to strike a deal. The latest reports suggest that using Cesc Fabregas as a makeweight could make it possible.
The Sun is the source of the story, with £50 million being the other component of a potentially successful deal.
"Juventus are ready to allow Leonardo Bonucci to join Chelsea — but only for a deal involving Cesc Fabregas plus a record sum of money for a defender."

Cesc Fabregas has endured a mixed start to the season. Antonio Conte has kept him on the bench for the bulk of it, apparently not seeing him as part of his initial starting XI. However, strong performances as a substitute have many fans calling for his inclusion.
A start against Leicester City was a two-goal success, although it came in the EFL Cup. Another start against Arsenal was decidedly less successful.
Fabregas’ contribution has been questioned in recent seasons. He offers much as a passer and playmaker, but deficiencies in the rest of his game outweigh his limited assets.
Leonardo Bonucci is an experienced campaigner despite being only 29. Having played under Antonio Conte with Juventus and Italy, he should also be able to fit seamlessly into the team. In fact, his familiarity with Conte’s desired three-man defence is greater than that of any incumbent Chelsea defender.
However, is such a mega deal worth it given that Bonucci has not played outside of Italy? Cesc Fabregas is also the same age as the Italian so it is not as if Chelsea are throwing away a tired veteran.
Then again, does the Blues’ desperate need for quality defenders render any cost issues insignificant?
