Chelsea and Manchester United are inching towards their highly anticipated match-up. Here are some predictions from The Pride Of London staff.

Jose Mourinho returns to Stamford Bridge on Sunday for the first time since his controversial Chelsea dismissal. In what would be an intriguing affair anyway, he returns as the manager of Manchester United. I’ve done a tour of the virtual Pride Of London office to get some predictions from our staff. It’s a huge game, so we’re having two assists. They come from Bhavik (@Bhavik181), a risk consultant from New Delhi, and Conor (@_conorewing), a student from Glasgow.

Bhavik: 2-1 Chelsea. It’s going to be a slow start with United scoring first through Rashford, followed by an equalizer by Luiz before half time. Costa to bring it home in the second half. Madness ensues.

Conor: 1-0 Blues. Jose will park the bus but the Blues’ firepower up front will be too much for an ultimately fragile defence. Hazard to get the winner.

Barrett Rouen: 2-1 Blues. Jose will have dreams full of regret. #ForzaConte

Scott Brant: Chelsea 2-1. With such an important figure returning to the Bridge, all eyes will be on this match. Antonio Conte will continue to employ his new formation – don’t change what works. Late goal to win it.

More from The Pride of London

Andre Carlisle: 2-0 United. This trick worked against Leicester so well that it’d be counter-intuitive and downright dumb not to deploy it this week. United have played two matches since Chelsea defeated Leicester which means Mourinho will do his dark sorcerer best to ensure he isn’t beaten by the club that sacked him twice.

Travis Tyler: 1-0 Blues. Mourinho will return to the Bridge and try to leave with a point rather than play for all 3. Chelsea will peg De Gea over and over, but will be unable to beat him until Victor Moses scores a screamer in the dying moments.

Dan McClue: 1-1. The game is scarred by the scenes on the touchline – Mourinho appears to flip off Conte, who then retaliates with an RKO, outta nowhere! Conte is subsequently knighted and offered Pippa Middleton’s hand in marriage. He respectfully declines.

Ben Croft: 2-1 Chelsea. United haven’t convinced me so far this season and we’ve looked good in the last two games. Our record in big games hasn’t been good lately so hopefully Conte has something up his sleeve for Sunday to make Jose go home unhappy. Costa and Hazard to score!

Khaled Abdallah: 1-1. Mourinho will take the sting out of a big game the way he did against Liverpool. Each team gets a set piece goal and they share the spoils in an ill-tempered affair.

Here is how we stand, five points for a correct score and three for a result.
