Chelsea have made a blistering start to their game against Everton, with Eden Hazard and Marcos Alonso scoring to give them a 2-0 lead.

After scoring in under a minute against Manchester United and after six minutes against Southampton, Chelsea made a relatively slow start to their game with Everton. However, two goals in a matter of seconds gave the Blues a 2-0 lead.

Eden Hazard struck first in the 19th minute, with a fizzing right-footed effort.

The Belgian was forced slightly wide by Diego Costa’s pass, yet he gathered himself before unleashing a powerful strike. Everton goalkeeper, Maarten Stekelenburg, may feel that he could done better with that. However, interference from Pedro (who may have been offside) was evidently playing on his mind.

The second goal came from a surprising source: Marcos Alonso. The new signing busted a gut to support a flash counter-attack and he was rewarded.

Pedro’s ball was looking for Diego Costa, but was slightly behind him. Fortunately, Alonso was there to cash in and slot the ball between Stekelenburg’s legs. Again, he should have done better.

Nonetheless, it’s been a scintillating start to the contest with Chelsea looking dangerous. Join us at our Twitter account (@PrideOLondon) for live coverage!
