Brendan McDonnell: Didier Drogba v Manchester United, 2007

Easy one for me… Drogba, in new Wembley, over Manchester United in 2007.   I love everything about this goal.

United had beaten Chelsea for the League that year, so getting a trophy at their expense was extra sweet.

Drogba always played his best in the biggest matches and had a knack for scoring in finals (Munich, vs. Portsmouth, the 2nd against Liverpool), but this one against Manchester United is the one that sticks with me. The one-two with Lampard looks like it’s out of a video game.

Fun fact, this goal was scored on May 19th, a date we ALL remember, but it also is my birthday.  A group of us saw this at the Pub in Downtown San Diego and the place erupted.
