8. Zouma uncharacteristically struggled to cope with the pace of Southampton winger Sims, who initially had a lot of joy in that channel between Fankaty Dabo and Zouma. Zouma showed that he is still not quite at his brilliant best and a bit rusty. But as the match wore on he dealt with things in a more familiar fashion. His confidence improved as well as he stepped out from defense a couple of times to shoot from the edge of the box. 8. Fikayo Tomori continues to impress after a stellar finish to last season. He displayed his confidence on the ball, his pace and strength off it and his ability to read the game and nip attacks in the bud. In a backline with Terry and Zouma, he managed to outshine both of them. Tomori was expected to head out on loan this season. Instead, Conte kept him at Cobham as a part of the first team squad.
