Unsurprisingly, Thibaut Courtois continues between the sticks for the Blues. The Belgian has got his career back on track this season and finally looks like the player who will safeguard Chelsea’s goal for the next decade.
David Luiz, meanwhile, shrugs off any injury concerns to retain his starting position alongside Gary Cahill and Cesar Azpilicueta. The Brazilian has been instrumental for Chelsea since the switch to the back three and Antonio Conte will be relieved that he is fit.
After a rather spectacular own goal against Manchester City, Cahill will be eager to make amends and contribute to a team clean sheet this afternoon.
As usual, Victor Moses and Marcos Alonso will be manning the flanks. The former has been spectacular over the last two months, even making the shortlist for the November Player of the Month award. The latter, though, underperformed against Tottenham and Man City, so a reassuringly solid display is in order.
The only change to the side comes in midfield, as Nemanja Matic is reinstated. The Serbian was injured for the last game, being replaced by Cesc Fabregas. Despite an impressive showing from the marginalised Spaniard, normal service resumes. Matic will know he is under pressure from his colleagues.
Further up the field, Pedro appears to have also beaten any minor injury trouble. He was taken off prematurely against City, with many citing a niggle as the reason for it. Like Fabregas, Willian took his chance at the Etihad and scored a goal. However, Pedro is again preferred.
Youngsters Ola Aina and Nathaniel Chalobah are available off the bench, while Michy Batshuayi may be required should Diego Costa finally blow cold.
On the West Brom side of affairs, Tony Pulis names an unchanged team for the fifth successive Premier League game. The Baggies have won three out of their last four games to advance up the table and toy with a Europa League push.
They may not be the most creatively talented outfit, but they seem to find a way to get results. Expect a tough test as Chelsea look for their ninth consecutive win.
