Predictions for Chelsea vs. Peterborough in the FA Cup
Chelsea open their FA Cup campaign in the third round against League One’s Peterborough. The odds are not in the visitors’ favour.
Chelsea have only played Peterborough twice before in the club’s history. Both meetings came at home in the FA Cup. Chelsea scored five goals in each encounter, with The Posh netting just once against the Blues back in 1965.
Needless to stay, history is not on Peterborough’s side. However, leaning on history is exactly the sort of complacency Antonio “I write my own history, thank you very much” Conte will not permit. Particularly coming off the loss to Tottenham, Chelsea will be out for blood as much as silver.
Scott Brant: Chelsea 4 – 0 Peterborough. The bigger squads have been putting up big numbers against the lesser competition lately in the FA competitions. The Blues will follow suit with a dominating performance. Nathaniel Chalobah will lead the way with a “I’m ready for more first team playing time” performance in midfield.
Daniel Mcclue: 6 – 1. While I am wary of a ‘cupset’ in this ‘potential banana-skin’, the Blues will have too much for The Posh. Michy Batshuayi is about to go OFF – he scores 4 goals in the first half. Chalobah scores a screamer and Pedro with the 6th.
Must Read: Michy Batshuayi no more than a maybe for FA Cup opener
Ben Croft: 3 – 0. I just don’t want a repeat of the Bradford game two years ago. Chelsea have not done well in the FA Cup in the last few years. It’s about time they had another trip to Wembley. Batshuayi to score two and Willian to get the other.
Travis Tyler: 6 – 0. The Blues follow the lead of most other big teams and score goal after goal. No player will get multiple goals, as Chelsea show their danger as a unit and switch formations no fewer than three times.

Ollie Miller: 3 – 0. Might not be the whitewash we’re all expecting. I expect Michy Batshuayi to do well and grab a goal. It will be great to see Kurt Zouma back in the team, hopefully starting alongside Nathaniel Chalobah and Ola Aina.
Martin Connolly: 3 – 0. Not exactly sure what to expect in terms of the team that starts, but it should be safe to assume Michy Batshuayi finally gets a chance to prove himself. He’ll get on the scoresheet as well.
