Chelsea and Hull City do battle at Stamford Bridge on Sunday afternoon. Can the Blues take advantage of their rivals’ slip-ups?

Chelsea have an opportunity to extend their lead at the top of the Premier League when they face Hull City on Sunday. Dropped points by Liverpool, Tottenham and Manchester City mean that the Blues can go as much as nine points clear. Here are our predictions for the game.

Scott Brant: 2-0. After a week or two of ridiculous speculation, Diego Costa is back and hopefully motivated to raise his value for the summer departure. Eden Hazard likes to boss weaker competition, it’s his day. Goal and assist for the Belgian wonder.

Daniel McClue: 6-0. I quite like Hull’s new manager, he has a good resume – odd that he would take this job. The Blues explode with six different players scoring; Chalobah, Chalobae, Chalobabycakes, Chalo, Nathaniel Nyakie Chalobah and Diego Costa. After his goal, Costa snogs the badge, people are creeped out and never question his love for Chelsea again. The End.

Travis Tyler: 4-0. Hull City at Stamford Bridge is no time for cup-like rotation, nor is it necessary to play the best XI. Conte will likely go for his best XI anyway, so anything short of a comfortable victory would be a surprise.

More from The Pride of London

Andre Carlisle: 1-0 Hull. I added a little extra virgin’s blood to the stew to ensure the dark arts were strong enough to overcome #DiegoGate. With Spurs, City, United and Liverpool all dropping points I think I’ll replicate the recipe, just to be sure. With lowly Hull in between us and an 8 or 9 point lead at the top of the table, I expect the Blues to put on their dancing shoes and give us a show. Hazard gets back on the scoresheet with a brace and is joined by two other Chelsea names for a cozy 4-0.

Ollie Miller: 3-0. Costa back in the side bags a brace. Pedro with the third. Hull should be no match for the Blues. A performance similar to Leicester will see three points stay in London. Expecting to see Hazard run riot.

Khaled Abdallah: 3-0 Chelsea as Eden Hazard toys with inferior competition. Victor Moses and Marcos Alonso have a field day while Nathan Ake makes his Chelsea debut (again).

Ben Croft: 5-0. If we can get an early goal things could turn ugly for Hull. That’s the key to this game. The longer it’s 0-0 the crowd will become frustrated so an early goal will help. Costa to answer his critics with a hat-trick with Pedro and Hazard adding one each.

Ejoh Celestine: 2-0. Costa and Hazard have decent scoring records against the Tigers, and both are available for Sunday’s game. Hull also have a poor record at Stamford Bridge and the possible absence of Snodgrass should make goals difficult for them.
