Unlike Chelsea, Jose Mourinho has “so many things to think about”

Jose Mourinho wasted little time starting the melodrama after Chelsea drew Manchester United in the FA Cup quarterfinals. It’s going to be a long three weeks.
Chelsea’s quarterfinal FA Cup tie against Manchester United will be another chance for the Blues to boss around their former boss at Stamford Bridge. Chelsea won the Premier League fixture 4-0 at a time when the Blues were ascendant and United were in disarray.
Manchester United have not lost in the league since that game. Jose Mourinho exhibited confidence in his club’s form and momentum by immediately starting the mind games and drama upon hearing about the draw.

Mourinho then rattled off his upcoming match schedule of Europa League games and the EFL Cup final. Attempting to cast Antonio Conte as living a #carefree life at Stamford Bridge, taking measurements for his new trophy case, Mourinho drew a pointed contrast: “I have so many things to think about.”
Jose Mourinho then delivered the passive-aggressive coup de grace. Doing his best take on Kermit the Frog drinking tea, Mourinho said “I don’t want to be speaking about it.”
Managerial mind games have been a recurring theme throughout this season. The pace of such shenanigans accelerated once Chelsea took command atop the Premier League. Mourinho and Pep Guardiola seemed to extend their cross-town rivalry towards who could put the best jinx on Chelsea in the press. Whether it is reminding the world of Chelsea not being involved in European football or ceding their attempts at the title, Mourinho thinks he can get in his former players’ heads from afar.
Antonio Conte has yet to take any of the Jose-bait. He has directed his public statements at his own players, rather than opposition clubs. While the Manchester duo try to convince the Blues to bask in their already-won title, Conte states the obvious: nobody has won anything yet.
