Tammy Abraham returns to Chelsea for scans, out for 2-3 weeks
Tammy Abraham is not as seriously hurt as was first feared. After undergoing scans with Chelsea medical staff, he has been ruled out for 2-3 weeks.
Tammy Abraham has been in fine form this season for Bristol City, but the striker suffered an injury scare last week. He went off midway through a clash with Leeds with a thigh injury. Having returned to Chelsea to be evaluated by Blues medical staff, the diagnosis is not as serious as initially feared.
Bristol City manager, Lee Johnson, addressed the situation and revealed that Abraham should be good to go in a couple of weeks.
"He’ll be out for two or three weeks. Chelsea are taking care of Tammy at the moment. We’ll get him back here in a week to ten days. – via Sky Sports"
This is great news for both Abraham and the Robins. The youngster has been in scintillating form for the Championship side, scoring 18 times in 30 league games.

His goals helped propel Bristol City into playoff contention early on, but a poor run before the new year (one win in 13 games) derailed their push.
That wasn’t due to a lack of production from Abraham, though, as he hit the back of the net seven times during that spell.
The thigh injury threatened what was looking like a promising period of development. While many Chelsea youngsters fail to progress as expected on loan, Abraham was truly showing the Championship (and Chelsea brass) what he has in the locker.
Bearing that in mind, management will be relieved to hear that a couple of weeks on the sidelines is all that he needs. In fact, with the exhaustive nature of the Championship schedule, being forced to take a couple of weeks off may be a blessing in disguise.
At the age of 19, the sky is seemingly the limit for Abraham. He has for long been regarded as one of the club’s premier young talents and he is indeed proving his supporters right.
The interesting decision will concern his next step. He may still be that bit too raw to gain substantial minutes in Chelsea’s first team. He also needs to be out on the field. Hence, another loan appears likely, even if it means shipping him abroad.
