Dominic Solanke is again the subject of transfer speculation with rumours claiming that RB Leipzig are interested in the young Chelsea talent.

Chelsea are once again facing scrutiny with regard to their loan system as another youngster gets linked with a permanent exit. Dominic Solanke is the subject of interest from RB Leipzig as the German team try to take advantage of his contract impasse.

The Daily Mail reports that the ambitious Leipzig have held talks with the youngster while the Blues fail to progress in their own negotiations.

"RB Leipzig have held talks over a move for Chelsea striker Dominic Solanke. The 19-year-old has been discussed by Bayern Munich and Liverpool as he looks to leave Chelsea at the end of the season.Chelsea have failed so far to find middle ground over a contract agreement for Solanke and would miss out on substantial compensation should he move abroad."

More from The Pride of London

Solanke seems destined to leave Chelsea in a scene all too familiar to Blues fans. Many precocious talents have left West London, having failed to break into the first team and see their career progress.

The only difference this time is that Solanke is moving on while he still has a chance to fulfill his potential. At 19 years of age, the Englishman is reaching the stage at which he needs regular high level football. With opportunities limited at Stamford Bridge, he is playing hard ball over his new deal.

Solanke wants a hefty wage and first-team guarantees if he is to stay. Given what has happened to many of his contemporaries, his demands are justified. It would be a tragedy for him to stay with the Blues and hinder his career as a result.

RB Leipzig, the unpopular upstarts in the Bundesliga, would be able to offer consistent senior football. Furthermore, it would be in a league that is of arguably higher quality than the Premier League.

Solanke’s potential is undisputed. The likes of Bayern Munich and Liverpool have also shown interest in the striker. This, again, looks to be a case of Chelsea letting go of a fantastic talent through their inability to give youth a chance.

Fans hoped that Antonio Conte would help change the club’s attitude, but little has happened. Conte has pursued with a consistent starting eleven. With the Blues flying high at the top of the Premier League, few can question him.

However, as Solanke deliberates over his new club, should Conte do more? In what situation can the manager afford youngsters the opportunities they desperately need? Let us know your thoughts below!
