According to the latest reports, Chelsea have moved into pole position to sign Alexis Sanchez but there are still some hurdles to negotiate.
As Arsenal continue to struggle, speculation surrounding Alexis Sanchez continues to heat up. The Chilean is all but destined to leave the Gunners in the next few transfer windows and Chelsea are an interested party. The latest report now places the Blues in pole position.
The Telegraph claims that Chelsea is Sanchez’s preferred destination, although Arsenal may be unwilling to sell to their neighbours.
"Sanchez is understood to be keen on the prospect of a move across London to Chelsea and has made Stamford Bridge his number one choice of potential destinations…Arsenal do not want to sell to a Premier League rival. Arsenal would rather let Sanchez enter the final 12 months of his contract than see him join Chelsea"

Arsenal, once again, find themselves in a farcical situation. They have crashed out of the title picture and even their customary 4th-placed finish appears to be in jeapordy. Fans are protesting against Arsene Wenger and their top stars seem set to leave.
Sanchez has been one of the Gunners’ consistent performers during his tenure at The Emirates. The Chilean is the only player who looks likely to create anything and almost all attacking play goes through him.
At the age of 28, Sanchez is in his prime. He wants to win titles and his best shot at fulfilling his wish involves leaving Arsenal.
With Diego Costa’s future uncertain, Chelsea are in need of a star striker ahead of a busy and ambitious 2017/18 campaign. Sanchez fits the bill and the stars seem to be aligning.
Even if Arsenal are unwilling to sell to a rival, money will talk. The Gunners have a history of selling to anyone if the money is right and Sanchez will be no different.
The club are in turmoil and Chelsea must take advantage of this. With a reportedly keen player, there is an opportunity to sign a world-class talent from across the city.
What do you think? How much would you value Sanchez at? Will Arsenal actually take a stand and refuse to sell to a rival? Sound off in the comments below!
