N’Golo Kante has revealed that Arsenal just didn’t care enough about signing him, so he decided to join Chelsea instead. Classic Arsenal, isn’t it?

Arsenal again missed out on a signing that could have genuinely put them in Premier League contention. N’Golo Kante has revealed that, although there was interest from the Gunners, it was only minor. Hence, the midfielder chose to sign for Chelsea instead.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Kante contributed to the joke that is Arsenal Football Club.

"With Arsenal there was an interest but not a big as other clubs. That is why I didn’t go to Arsenal and went to Chelsea."

The Gunners have consistently failed to sign the big players that could give them a chance at winning a title. Now, it seems as if they missed out once again.

There is no denying that Kante has been of Chelsea’s key players this season. The engine in the midfield, his addition has lifted the Blues and driven them to the top of the table.

Doubts still remain over his true quality, given that he has not been tested against top European competition. However, he has played what has been put in front of him and he has been sensational.

Gunners fan must be fuming thinking about what a difference he would have made in their team. Imagine having Kante running around in midfield, as opposed to Francis Coquelin. At least at Premier League level, the former Leicester City man is one of the best.

Chelsea fans, though, are reaping the rewards for Arsenal’s idiocy. Sitting seven points clear of their nearest challengers, the Blues are set to bring the Premier League trophy back to Stamford Bridge. Kante is being mentioned in talks regarding the PFA Player of the Year, just reward for his performances.

However, his true test will come next season. Despite dazzling English audiences, Kante is yet to come up against the world’s finest players. In the Champions League, he will be able to show whether he is actually one of the game’s premier midfielders.

The Premier League simply cannot compete in terms of quality. Kante has not yet faced a team in which their are multiple threats. Keeping one player quiet is often enough in England to secure a win. In Europe, that will not suffice.
