Chelsea can take another step closer to the Premier League title on Monday night when they take on Middlesbrough. Will the Blues get through unscathed?
After Tottenham Hotspur
bottled it
dropped points against West Ham on Friday night, any distant pressure has been eased. Chelsea can move seven points clear on Monday night when they welcome Middlesbrough to Stamford Bridge. Who will take the spoils? Vote in the poll and read the thoughts of our writers below!
Scott Brant: 1-0. Chelsea must stay focused and concentrate on getting the 3 points in front of them – no complacency. Winning must be the objective, no settling for draws. Conte was keen to highlight this point during the week. Hazard nets a penalty in the second half to secure the victory.
Kee Min: 2-0. Call me an optimist, but Chelsea’s performance against Everton makes me think we turned this around. Middlesbrough have a glimmer of hope after Hull took a tumble against the bottom-feeding Sunderland, and they will be fighting tooth and nail to stay up. However, Spurs also bottled it against West Ham and Conte will fire his team up. Boro and Negredo did put on a good showing against Man City, but the Blues are simply a different team to the Citizens. Hazard and Cahill pop up with some more important goals.

Travis Tyler: 6-0. This is a Conte team, and losing it all now is absolutely out of the question. Maybe out of fear for their lives, maybe out of great passion, maybe out of wrath, but regardless Chelsea explode out the gates and end the game with the performance of the season followed by Conte signing a new contract.
Daniel McClue: 4-0. As the lineups are announced and Kante is not in the starting XI panic blankets the Chelsea fans. But behold our saviour; Nathaniel Nyakie Chalobah. While simultaneously stopping every Middlesbrough attack (recording 12 tackles, 7 interceptions) and propelling the Blues forward (7 key passes, 86 passes completed), Chalobah announces himself to the world. Goals from Hazard x2, Costa and Alonso put the side this close to [redacted].
Ollie Miller: 1-0. A nervy performance but eventually Chelsea will make the breakthrough. A second half Pedro goal will put one hand on the Premier League trophy.
Andre Carlisle: 1-0 Boro. It is time, my children. This is why we scavenge for all those newt eyes and drink all that virgin blood. Middlesbrough need to win if they are to stay up, Chelsea need to win if they are to place a hand on the Premier League trophy. This should make for an open match, which should make Boro supporters nervy and Chelsea ones grinny. The number of the week is 3, and Diego, Hazard, and a late blast from Chalobah oblige. 3-0 Chelsea.
Barrett Rouen: 3-1. Chelsea will be a little slow out of the box and go down to a dumb goal before some Conte time at the half. They’ll come out looking inspired and perhaps even a bit terrified after the half. Hazard, Pedro and Moses to score.
