Juventus are reportedly willing to accept an improved offer from Chelsea for Brazilian wingback Alex Sandro. The deal is worth around £60 million.

After reports emerged claiming that Chelsea had tabled a mega bid for both Leonardo Bonucci and Alex Sandro, the latest is that Juventus will accept the offer for the latter half. With the Blues now valuing Sandro at around £60 million, the Italians are willing to let their wingback go.

The Metro cites sources in Italy, reporting that Juventus have green lighted the deal which is expected to be closed soon.

"Chelsea are closing in on Alex Sandro after Juventus gave their approval to a new, improved offer, while the defender has told the club he wants to move to west London…And now Corriere della Sera are reporting that the deal is expected to be concluded swiftly after Chelsea matched Juve’s asking price with an offer of €70 million (£61.2m)."

More from The Pride of London

Chelsea are set to be one of the busier clubs in the summer transfer market as they prepare for a packed schedule next season. A return to the Champions League means that the Blues need a significantly stronger squad to cope with higher quality competition and a larger volume of games.

Victor Moses and Marcos Alonso were fantastic during the 2016/17 campaign, but they need someone to challenge them and keep them on their toes. Sandro is a proven player at European level and will immediately challenge the incumbent duo for their places.

Furthermore, rotation will be likely with two games per week. Being able to have quality talent step in and out of the squad is an important part of a successful team. Antonio Conte must have confidence in every member of his squad to deliver.

Hopefully, this Sandro deal will indeed close soon and the Blues can move swiftly on to their next target. A striker is required to replace Diego Costa, for instance.
