Chelsea still in pursuit of Juventus duo, make double bid
Chelsea are still pursuing Juventus players Leonardo Bonucci and Alex Sandro and they have made a fresh offer worth over £100 million.
Chelsea continue to be linked with Juventus players and the latest reports claim that the Blues have made a mega bid for the duo of Leonardo Bonucci and Alex Sandro. Antonio Conte’s association with the club have provided grounds for numerous stories since his arrival at Stamford Bridge.
The Express reports that Chelsea have stumped up over £100 million for the Juventus pair as the board look to please their manager.
"Chelsea have launched a £105million double swoop on Italian giants Juventus for defenders Leonardo Bonucci and Alex Sandro…Sandro is rated at around £55million and has been told that he can leave after helping Juventus win back-to-back Italian League and Cup doubles. While Conte is also willing to splash out around £50million on Bonucci despite him being 30 as he seeks to replace John Terry who left Stamford Bridge at the end of last season."

Conte has apparently been growing frustrated at the lack of action from Chelsea in the market. The Blues have been linked with a number of players, but nothing has come of it.
The more mischievous sources have stated that Conte may make a shocking exit as a result. Hopefully, the board can close some deals and tie the Italian down to an extension.
Signing Bonucci and Sandro would make clear the club’s intentions. With Champions League football awaiting the Blues, a much stronger squad is needed. John Terry’s departure leaves a space open for an experienced head. At the age of 30, Bonucci is perfect for that role.
Meanwhile, a lack of options at wingback make the signing of someone like Sandro essential. Victor Moses and Marcos Alonso were fantastic last season, but they need competition and Conte needs depth in order to cope with the multitude of games next term.
Sandro has proven himself to be a high-calibre player in the position and at the age of 26, he could be a long-term solution. The Brazilian is better value than his Italian teammate and should be prioritised if Juventus aren’t willing to sell both.
