Gianfranco Zola thinks Andrea Belotti is better for Chelsea, do you?
Gianfranco Zola has urged Chelsea to pursue Torino striker Andrea Belotti, believing that he is a better fit for the Blues than Alvaro Morata.
With Romelu Lukaku now a Manchester United player, Chelsea are scrambling for a Diego Costa replacement. Alvaro Morata and Andrea Belotti have both been linked with West London moves, but Blues great Gianfranco Zola believes that the latter is a better fit.
Speaking to talkSPORT, Zola claimed that Belotti’s style of play make him a more appropriate option for Antonio Conte.
"To be honest, I was thinking Chelsea should go for Andrea Belotti in Italy.I thought that considering the type of qualities Costa has, that Belotti was the perfect fit.Morata is a little bit different, he’s more of a finesse player. He hasn’t got the presence of a player like Costa in the box. He’s a different player, he brings other qualities."

Morata has been linked with a Real Madrid exit after an underwhelming return to the Spanish capital last year. Real had exercised their buy-back clause, bringing Morata back from Juventus. However, he made over half of his appearances off the bench.

The La Liga champions are reportedly looking to cash in on the 24-year-old with a number of clubs interested. Essentially, Morata looks set to leave and thus Chelsea may view him as the easier deal to strike.
However, Zola is right about Belotti fitting in better. Diego Costa was more than a clinical finisher. Some of this habits were frustrating, but he brought a lot to the table and was instrumental in the club’s two most recent title successes.
Belotti provides a more direct replacement. If he is signed, the style of football would not need to change all that much to accommodate the Italian. Torino seem keen on keeping their star man, though, so a more ridiculous offer may be required.
