Chelsea started their pre-season in style on Saturday as they thrashed Fulham 8-2. The friendly was behind closed doors and took place at Cobham, but there are still highlights available for those of us craving to see the Blues back in action.
Michy Batshuayi linked up with Willian for the first two Chelsea goals, serving the ball on a plate for his Brazilian colleague.

Fulham then pulled one back with a bizarre own goal. A cross hit Cesar Azpilicueta and landed up in the net. Comical, really.
Willian and Batshuayi reversed roles for Chelsea’s third. The winger picked out the Belgian who took a nice touch. His effort was weak, but absolutely dire goalkeeping saw the ball head over the line. Even more comical, really.
The Belgian netted for a second time in the first half and my god I don’t know what’s going on at this point. Cesc Fabregas knocked the ball up the field and Batshuayi was in the clear. Who knows what the Fulham defence were up to.
The best goal of the game brought Willian his hat-trick. Victor Moses won the ball in his own half, before Pedro took it into the opposition’s. The ball was spread to Willian who rifled it into the net.

In the second half, Loic Remy got in on the action, while Fikayo Tomori and Kenedy had a run out. All in all it doesn’t say anything about possible squad selection or how Chelsea will fare. But there are goals. And I like goals.
