Jurgen Klopp has laid into Chelsea over their inability to see the potential in Mohamed Salah. Salah is looking to avenge his first Premier League stint.

Chelsea have a history of letting players go before they have truly fulfilled their potential. Kevin De Bruyne was one, Romelu Lukaku another. Now, could selling Mohamed Salah come back to haunt the Blues? Jurgen Klopp certainly believes so.

After impressing in Liverpool’s opening pre-season fixture, Klopp pointed out that a number of players have previously struggled at Stamford Bridge.

"A lot of players have shown it is quite easy to struggle at Chelsea. (Kevin) De Bruyne is one…Then [Salah] struggled at Chelsea because it was too early… The question is ‘what did you not see in him?’ because he played all-inclusive football. – via Sky Sports"

Salah did indeed find life difficult in West London. Having arrived in January 2014, the Egyptian spent just over 12 months with the Blues before being loaned out. He made 13 league appearances during his stay, the bulk of which came from the bench.

Truth be told, he was poor. Whether it was a bit too early in his career or coming midway through a season made it hard to settle in, Salah never looked comfortable. He was loaned to Fiorentina and eventually sold to Roma, where he scored 43 goals in 109 competitive games.

That rejuvenation in Italy caused Liverpool to splash over £30 million on him. There is no doubt that his performances in the Serie A were impressive, but will he be able to carry the form over to England?

Klopp is adamant that he is the man to add even more dynamism to an exciting attack. If he can replicate his scoring record, Liverpool could have one of the most dangerous attacks in the league.

Salah got off to a good start, hitting the back of the net in the pre-season draw with Crystal Palace. Based on that performance, Reds fans have plenty to look forward to as they try to capture that elusive Premier League title.

As for Chelsea, their bids for silverware could be scuppered by three players they didn’t believe in. De Bruyne, Lukaku and Salah all have the potential to singlehandedly win trophies for their clubs. Are you scared?
