Antonio Conte has bizarrely declared Harry Kane to be the perfect striker, despite just spending £70 million on Alvaro Morata.
Chelsea boss Antonio Conte spoke to the press on Wednesday and took the opportunity to heap praise on Tottenham striker Harry Kane. The Italian heralded him as his ideal signing – a bizarre statement to make so soon after splashing the cash on Alvaro Morata.
"For me, Kane, now, is one of the best strikers in the world. If I had to buy one striker I would go to Kane. He is a complete striker. He is strong physically, with the ball, without the ball, he fights and he’s strong in the air and acrobatic on the right and the left. – via ESPN FC"
Harry Kane has been a star for Spurs over the last few seasons. The striker truly looks like the real deal, as opposed to the numerous native players who are hyped purely because they are English.

However, Conte’s open and absolute praise for Kane is slightly bewildering. Of course, it is fine to declare your admiration for the top players, but this is something else.
The boss explicitly said that he would be his one striker to buy. What will Morata be thinking once he hears those quotes?
The Blues have just splashed £70 million on the Spaniard striker. For all intents and purposes, Morata is the best striker out there at the moment. He is the best man for the Blues, hence they agreed such a lucrative deal.
However, these comments only give the cynics and mischief-makers ammunition. Morata’s (and Batshuayi’s for that matter) manager is coming out in the press to say that he would prefer someone else to lead the line.
With this being Morata’s first foray in the Premier League, he needs all the confidence he can get. That specifically includes confidence instilled by his manager. Hearing the boss essentially state that he was not the striker he really wanted will not help.
