As transfer deadline day looms large, the latest Chelsea transfer rumours claim that a bid has been made for Ross Barkley while Danny Drinkwater has handed in a transfer request.

With the transfer deadline just around the corner, Chelsea are due to be extremely busy. A fee has reportedly been agreed for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain but the Blues are still chasing two other Englishman. Here are the latest transfer updates on Ross Barkley and Danny Drinkwater. Remember, though, that these are just rumours at this point!

Ross Barkley

Chelsea have taken steps forward in their pursuit of the wantaway Everton midfielder. According to The Telegraph, the Blues have submitted a £25 million bid for Barkley.

"Chelsea’s frenetic end to the transfer window has stepped up a pace with the Premier League champions lodging a bid for Everton midfielder Ross Barkley. The offer is believed to be worth around £25million."

Barkley is running down his contract at Goodison Park and Ronald Koeman has accepted that he will leave this summer. However, despite numerous interested parties, no deal has been struck yet. Chelsea may be able to sign the temperamental midfielder for a cut-price fee as time runs out.

Danny Drinkwater

Having been left out of Leicester City’s matchday squads to kick off their season, Danny Drinkwater is also on his way out. Chelsea have been trailing the midfielder for a few weeks and Sky Sports now claims that he has submitted a transfer request to speed things up.

The Blues’ pursuit of Drinkwater has split opinion, but he could be a useful backup to the club’s current options. Moreover, at this stage in the window, there are unlikely to be better players available.

Kylian Hazard

In a officially confirmed piece of business, Chelsea have signed Eden Hazard’s other brother. Kylian Hazard joined the Blues on Tuesday and will report to the development squad. At the age of 22, this seems more like a move to appease the bigger star. Kylian comes to West London from Hungarian outfit, Ujpest.
