4. Conte’s starting XI with Champions League football in sight

Chelsea return to the Champions League after a year’s sabbatical from the competition due to the infamous Mourinho season’ They’ve been drawn in a tough group with the likes of Atletico Madrid and AS Roma encumbering their way to the knockout stages of the competition.

The final team in the group are European minnows, Qarabag FK, who are incidentally the opposition Chelsea will welcome on Tuesday night. Thankfully, the dreaded 5000-mile round trip to Azerbaijan comes at a later date, which means that Chelsea have the ideal conditions to start the campaign on the best possible note.

It would be interesting to see if Conte would be ready to rest or risk players like Hazard and Bakayoko against Leicester. There’s been much said and written about Conte’s failures in Europe and he would be looking to absolve himself of those tags this season. Whether he will prioritise the Champions League over the Premier League, only time will tell.
