During his press conference, Antonio Conte provided a few injury updates ahead of Chelsea’s Premier League clash with West Bromwich Albion.

Chelsea return to Premier League action on Saturday with a difficult away assignment. The Blues will travel to the Hawthorns to take on West Brom. Despite their early season struggles, any Tony Pulis team represents a tough afternoon. Speaking ahead of the game, Antonio Conte provided updates on several injured Chelsea players.

"Batshuayi has a problem in his ankle. Musonda has a problem in his knee. Moses is progressing well and I hope to see him back next week. Gary Cahill is in contention for tomorrow’s game, he is fit. – via chelseafc.com"

Michy Batshuayi’s injury is fresh news. The Belgian was on the bench for the Manchester United game and was called up to the Belgium squad. However, he then left the camp due to this ankle problem and will not be available for the Midlands trip.

Victor Moses, meanwhile, is a player that many fans desperately want to see back in a Chelsea shirt. The Nigerian has been missing since mid-October and despite the Blues enjoying a fairly decent run of results, his return will be welcomed, albeit only next week.

WBA v Chelsea: Breaking down the opposition

After his striking omission from the matchday squad to face United, David Luiz is expected to return to the fold on Saturday. He may even slot straight back into the starting eleven due to Gary Cahill’s minor niggle. The Englishman has been passed fit, but it will be interesting to see which defender Conte picks.

Elsewhere, Charly Musonda is unavailable but that will make little difference. The youngster was realistically never going to start this game and his absence only opens up a spot on the bench.

Importantly, Chelsea’s key players are all fit. The Blues need to hit the ground running after the break and put together a serious winning streak to keep up with Manchester City. Pep Guardiola’s team do not look like slipping up and thus the pressure is on the chasing pack.
