With the January transfer window fast approaching, we’ve taken some time out to play Buy, Loan, Sell. Which Chelsea players are we cutting loose? Who should come in?

Buy: Leon Goretzka

Chelsea currently only have four center midfielders and need one more with goals. Enter Leon Goretzka. His biggest negative is a few injury issues that could be age or environment. But he is not cup tied and fills a role for Chelsea to add some more goalscoring threat to the midfield.

Loan: Charly Musonda

Charly Musonda currently has one decent half season to point to as a professional. What he needs more than anything is a long, stable loan like Andreas Christensen got in the Bundesliga. After that, Musonda should be much better prepared to step into the squad like his Danish teammate.

Sell: David Luiz

If David Luiz is not willing to play ball with Antonio Conte, then he needs to be gone to whoever accepts a reasonable bid. It will leave Chelsea short-staffed in defense temporarily, but other players can be asked to cover as needed.
