2. Bakayoko continues to struggle

Bakayoko had one of the finest debuts a fan could ask for. He was tremendous for Chelsea against both Tottenham and Atletico Madrid away. The fact that he was not fully fit during those matches only makes his performances more impressive.

So it was only logical that his performance would improve even further as he got accustomed to his new teammates. Unfortunately things have not turned out the way Chelsea fans had expected. Since then, his performances have featured more and more misplaced passes and wayward shots.

It reached its boiling point when his silly touch inside the penalty box helped Mohamed Salah take the lead for Liverpool. He made his return to the Chelsea line-up against Atletico after he was dropped/rested in the previous 2 fixtures. There was no improvement as a silly error from him resulted in yet another crucial goal. Bakayoko failed to track the goalscorer, Saul, allowing him the easiest of headers.

Mistakes are part of the game. Chelsea fans are already aware of his abilities. But if Bakayoko does not sort his mistakes out, it wont be long before he is out of the team. Since there are plenty of matches to be played, Chelsea need all 4 of the central midfielders in top form. At the moment, Danny Drinkwater seems a far better option than Bakayoko.
