Predictions for Chelsea’s Carabao Cup clash with Bournemouth
Chelsea and Bournemouth clash on Wednesday night in a Carabao Cup quarter-final. Will a weakened Blues side be able to overcome the Cherries?
Ollie Miller: 2-0 Chelsea. Bournemouth will make it hard for Chelsea but the Blues will control the game. I expect to see Willian feature due to his much improved recent form. A goal from Willian and I fancy Victor Moses to grab the second. Let’s hope that at least some of our exceptional youth players play some part tonight.
Kevin Peacock: Michy Batshuayi sticks it to the man and bangs in a hat trick. Kenedy adds a goal for good measure. Willy Caballero concedes his customary late goal as Chelsea run out winners 4-1.
Travis Tyler: 3-0. Bournemouth had a strong lineup on the weekend that got smashed. They will not play again and Eddie Howe would have looked at yesterday’s winners and decided to pass on this one.
Abhishek Pancholi: 4-0. Even with a rotated lineup, the Blues will be too strong for Bournemouth. I’m backing Michy to score two goals, at least. Kenedy tends to score in one-off matches and this could be one of them. Musonda, if he makes an appearance, will turn in his best performance to date.
A Blue Christmas: 10 Chelsea Christmas presents for that special someone
Scott Brant: 2-0. Chelsea will steamroll Bournemouth who have been struggling as of late. Look for Morata to get back into form, and Hazard to rest a little. Might even see a Bats appearance.
Daniel McClue: 5-2 Chelsea. Bournemouth are in real trouble in the league, the cup could get the feel-good factor back at the club. Realistically, though, they should be focusing on surviving in the league. Batshuayi scores four and Hudson-Odoi adds a fifth after taking on the entire Bournemouth team.
Shivansh Sareen: 2-0 to the Blues. Willian scores the first and Cahill gives the fans a belated return gift.
Hugo Amaya: 2-0. Conte will rotate some players and balance the team as defensively as possible. First goal will come from a good passage of play and the second will be a set-piece.
