Chelsea are reportedly willing to loan Charly Musonda out this January. The youngster needs the move away as he looks to continue his development.

As another transfer window swings into action, Chelsea are once again involved in a loan deal for one of their youngsters. The latest rumours suggest that the Blues are willing to loan Charly Musonda after hardly using him so far this season.

According to The Telegraph, Chelsea have agreed to let the youngster go with a smorgasbord of Premier League clubs interested.

"Chelsea’s willingness to send Charly Musonda on loan for the rest of the season has sparked interest from a host of Premier League clubs. Bournemouth, Watford, Newcastle United and West Bromwich Albion are all thought to have been alerted to Musonda’s availability."

When Musonda was retained by Antonio Conte in September, the hope was he would get chances to play in the first team. Instead, he has made a grand total of five competitive appearances, three off which have come from the bench.

The 21-year-old has been one of the club’s most promising prospects, but wasting away as he has been is only detrimental to his development.

Frustratingly, it is not as if the Blues have been flying high and thus there has been no opportunity for Musonda. Conte could have easily given him some game-time as Chelsea looked to reboot and refresh. However, the confidence was not placed in the midfielder.

Musonda has openly vented his frustration at the situation and rightly so. This should have been his breakout season, but Conte has refused to allow that to happen.

With a loan move, he will go to a club that will truly value his talent. Like Ruben Loftus-Cheek, he’ll play regularly and show his quality. The issue for Chelsea is whether Musonda looks to leave permanently in the near future.

Even if he impresses on his loan spell, he may just be fed up with the lack of opportunities at Stamford Bridge. Having seen Nathan Ake and Nathaniel Chalobah pack their bags, he could also feel that his long-term future lies elsewhere.
