Chelsea predictions vs. Leicester: Do they dare, do they care?
Chelsea’s last remaining road to silverware goes through Leicester City. Will the Blues put forth the effort to sneak out a win, or are they already dreaming of summer?
On the one hand this season is well better than 2015/16. Chelsea can still win the FA Cup and avoid the rare trophy-less season, and can still qualify for next season’s Champions League. On the other, those are some low expectations. Here are our predictions for whether the Blues will do it, on the assumption they still want it.
Scott Brant: Leicester City 1 – 2 Chelsea. Still feeling the midweek loss and exit from Champions League, this match – this competition – has become a must win for the Blues. We are aiming for a Arsenal-type season this year: finish top-four and an FA cup title – hopefully.
Barrett Rouen: 0 – 2. We do a classic up-and-down. We sucked. We gloss over it with a useless victory.
Daniel Mcclue: 1 – 2. Antonio Conte can no longer use the number of competitions as an excuse to rotate, so he doesn’t rotate. A full strength side still struggle, though, as they look to have given up. Someone and someone else score and I’ve given up too.
Must Read: Willy Caballero deserves to take Chelsea's FA Cup ambitions all the way to Wembley
Hugo Amaya: 1 – 3. After being humiliated by Barcelona, the Blues will struggle in the first half of the game. However in the second half, Conte will have a talk with the team and make it all better. Chelsea will settle down and get the best of Leicester by out scoring them. Chelsea move on, with the hopes of getting their hands on the trophy.
George Perry: Today’s the day the FA Cup final will be set. Wigan will trounce Southampton in the early game, and then Chelsea will prevail over Leicester in the other. Then something will happen in the semi-finals, and the Blues will meet Wigan at Wembley. There, without Robert Martinez, Wigan’s magic of the FA Cup will run out and Chelsea will win Conte his first domestic cup as a manager.
Travis Tyler: 1 – 2. The Blues come storming out but fail to score before making subs. Olivier Giroud’s brace off the bench saves it, but Chelsea let another late goal through
Next: Thibaut Courtois wants his cake and will eat it too
