Chelsea came back to win from 2-0 down for the first time since 2002. The Blues combined as a team for the 2-0 deficit, but the 3-2 win rests almost entirely on one man.

Chelsea defied their season to keep Southampton true to theirs. Chelsea overcame a halftime deficit for only the second time in 11 attempts this season. In doing so, they became the fourth consecutive opponent to score three goals against Southampton, each handing the Saints a defeat. Now the Blues have a shred of hope, while Southampton have none.
