Last week produced some of the most thrilling football Europe has seen in years. This week, football has a hangover just in time for Chelsea to visit Burnley.

The Premier League has been quite dismal over the last few days, with mundane scorelines only partially reflecting the boring football. So clearly there is no better way to reverse that trend than for the offensively-challenged Chelsea to visit …. oh dear.

Barrett Rouen: Burnley 1 – 2 Chelsea. This could really go either way.  Burnley are a well-coached team who play with the sort of disciplined, professional, adult style that Chelsea have trouble with so they might snatch a win. It’s a tough choice. Olivier Giroud to probably score and show everyone just how average Alvaro Morata has been this season.

Scott Brant: 0 – 1. The Blues need to build upon the win over Southampton with another against a very underrated team in Burnley. Don’t expect an end-to-end thriller. Burnley puts one in their own net to give Chelsea the three points.

Brendan McDonnell: 0 – 1. I thought we all agreed to be negative again to keep up the winning streak. Anyhow, Burnley (with a glorious assist from Craig Pawson) couldn’t wait to take the shine off Chelsea’s chances to repeat back in August.  Three first-half goals took their hopes and dreams of a repeat and threw it in a Stamford Bridge garbage can. We should’ve known, we should’ve known. On Thursday, with a full complement of players on the field for all 90 minutes, Chelsea grinds out a win at Turf Moor.

Must Read: Chelsea remain laughably unprepared for the expedited transfer window

Nate Hofmann: 0 – 2. Time for Chelsea to get used to playing on Thursdays.  This is pretty much a dead rubber match for both teams, but Chelsea should have some mojo back after the comeback against Southampton. A goal for Emerson (somehow), and one for Willian.  We’re back baby! Back in the Europa League.

Abhishek Pancholi: 1 – 2.  Another hard-fought win against Dyche’s men will do nicely. I simply do not trust this defence to keep a clean sheet after watching their slapstick routine against Southampton. So I fully expect Ashley Barnes to get one for the Clarets, if he plays. Giroud could start but it will be Morata, coming on as a sub, who gets the winner.

Kevin Peacock: 0 – 2. Burnley go into the game in the unusual position of being favourites. Conte has partially done Dyche’s work for him, by saying the gravel-voiced one has had it easy. The pressure though, is all too much for the Clarets as Chelsea see them off. An Premier League debut goal for Emerson and one for Morata.

Daniel Mcclue: 0 – 6. The Blues rotate as their focus shifts to the FA Cup and with the pressure off they run riot. Emerson scores 4 and Hudson-Odoi gets 5 assists and 1 goal. Or maybe it just ends 0-0 like every other boring game this week.
