Chelsea need options for their roster if they are to survive a season under the transfer ban. Being generous with second chances could ensure they have the right players to pull them through.

Part one, part two, and part three are found in those respective links.

Keepers

On the roster: Kepa Arrizabalaga, Willy Caballero

Chelsea paid £72 million for Kepa Arrizabalaga and made him the most expensive keeper of all time. The 24-year old has done a decent job replacing Thibaut Courtois in his debut season so far. He has 11 clean sheets (third best in the league). Only Ederson (14) and Alisson (17) are above him. In The Europa league he is leading with six clean sheets in eight appearances.

The majority of Chelsea’s goal have been conceded due to poor defensive errors which really were not Arrizabalaga’s fault. Overall he has shown great command in the box and has pulled off some tremendous saves this season. The unfortunate confrontation with Maurizio Sarri during the League Cup cup final is what could stain his performances. The Spaniard shows promise and should definitely be Chelsea’s number one next season.

Willy Caballero is a penalty shootout master. He single handedly won Manchester City the League Cup final against Liverpool whilst saving three penalties in 2016. He also helped Chelsea advance to round four of the FA cup by saving a penalty against Norwich. He is probably the best and most experienced backup goal keeper a team can have.

Always reliable between the sticks and he constantly communicates with the defense. In eight appearances across all competitions he has four clean sheets. Chelsea could have won the League Cup final if Arrizabalaga would have come off that day. Caballero was signed for free, which now seems surprising considering how good he is.
