Chelsea fans have an unfortunate tendency to see the worst in everything, even though the Blues have a remarkable ability to win even when all odds look stacked against them. Perhaps some optimism is order.

The transfer ban, Eden Hazard’s exit and doubts over Maurizio Sarri’s future are making Chelsea fans nervous for the upcoming season. Their projections for next season look as bad as 2015/16, but for all we know, the Blues might be the champions again.

Time will tell, but Chelsea fans do not need to overthink the situation. Here are the three reassuring points to keep in mind.

1. Young talent

This is the biggest talking point for everyone. Chelsea has the best home-grown talent right now in Premier League. The list of loaned players is impressive, while Maurizio Sarri gave the appropriate chances to some of the players to resolve the problems for various positions.

All these players are within the budget and they want to prove themselves. The club must exploit their hunger to become the best by providing them further opportunities. The young players’ hustle must be towards producing a series of quality performances rather than focusing on winning.

Their stage is set now. It’s up to Chelsea management to support their future.

2. No Eden Hazard, no problem

The absence of Eden Hazard cannot be ignored, but the room for improvement is now huge at Stamford Bridge. There is no hiding, as Chelsea’s flaws are wide open, but Stamford Bridge has ample of resources at their disposal.

The areas which Hazard covered are begging to be tested. Sarri has certainly done the research and development for himself or any upcoming manager to make the transition to the post-Hazard era.

3. Rethinking approach to coaches and players

The transfer ban might change the thinking of Chelsea’s higher authorities towards how they handle coaches and players.

Maurizio Sarri’s links with Juventus are the critical point for the next season. Chelsea should retain his services for another season. He knows the players inside and out now. He tried those players who will fulfill the duties Eden Hazard left open.

Regardless of what fans think of him, he has delivered the results and this is the time when management must show proper flexibility and respect. He is the only person who can keep things calm at Stamford Bridge. He might fluctuate during the season but the results are guaranteed. No new coach would be able to satisfy the demand, as time for settling down is unavoidable. Jurgen Klopp needed four years to deliver results while, in the most exceptional case, Pep Guardiola took one year before he conquered the Premier League.

On the other side, no regular player should be allowed to leave for one more season. Senior players must act as the foundation to face the crisis. Transparency and earning the trust of players and coaches must be the priority now.

This is the moment that could turn the fortune in favor of Chelsea. Panic is not the answer. It is about working tirelessly as a team. There is no competitor for Chelsea this season – they are competing with themselves and beating their previous best is the only aim.

Next. Transfer ban will do much less for Chelsea youth than optimistic fans think. dark

Let’s never forget Chelsea is the best in London, and yet they could still use this particular time and situation to raise the standards. If they deal with situation properly, Chelsea fans will have the moments to feel proud and something to brag about for eternity.
