Chelsea need a player who can create chances for himself and others, and finish the chances created by himself and others. They should make Erling Haaland their top transfer target whenever they have their next open window.

Chelsea has been in need of a playmaker and creator since the departure of Eden Hazard. Even when Hazard was still at Chelsea, they still needed someone to convert the chances he created.

Chelsea has also needed someone to be a creative outlet when the main creator is absent (physically or performance-wise). Christian Pulisic has been putting in spectacular shifts in terms of creating chances and taking on defenders. However, when Willian and Pulisic are not creating chances, there’s barely anybody else who can. Chelsea need a striker who can not only score goals, but also create chances and create space for other players. That player is Erling Braut Haaland.

Haaland is a Norwegian striker who is tearing up the Austrian Bundesliga. Granted, it’s the Austrian league, but Haaland is showing that he is way above the level of the Austrian league. If anything, he is showing that he is supposed to be in a much more difficult league.

Haaland is also the second-highest goal scorer in the Champions League so far this season, with eight goals – at 19 years old. Haaland has scored in all five of his Champions League appearances so far. He has only started three of them.

He is not a finished product yet, but every other part of his development can easily be taken care of under the tutelage of Frank Lampard.

Haaland would offer Chelsea many things, including varying options for tactical changes in-game. Haaland is fast for someone who weighs 202 pounds. He speed and strength mean he can be used as a lone striker, powering through defenses single-handedly (when he works on his ball control). He can also be used as a target man, seeing as he towers over most of his teammates at 6’4′.

He can be a wildcard option from the bench in games where Chelsea has run out of options. He can be used in a two striker formation, as he is already used to. Right off the top, Erling Haaland offers Lampard three different formations to use in a match.

Haaland’s excellent finishing and positioning means he can get into goal-scoring positions easily and would convert a high percentage of his shots.

Haaland has taken the fourth-highest number of shots in the Austrian league (39) and has the highest conversion rate (38%) in the league among players who have taken at least 30 shots. He has played 350 fewer minutes than the player who has taken the most shots, Shon Weissman (47). Weissman has taken eight more shots in 350 more minutes than Haaland.

Haaland has also created the most big chances for Salzburg in the Austrian Bundesliga.

Setting the record straight on N'Golo Kante's offensive contributions. light. no offense?

It may be true that it is “just” the Austrian league, but he can only perform against the opponents in front of him. He can’t perform in a league he’s not in. With the right kind of coaching – which Frank Lampard can provide – Haaland could become a force in the Premier League, Champions League and all of football. He already has 90% of what everyone is looking for in a striker. He would be the perfect partner – nay, competitor – for Tammy Abraham.

Frank Lampard’s comments about Pulisic playing the false 9 position could be an indication that Lampard is not satisfied with his two backup strikers. This could be a hint that he will be looking for a striker in the next possible transfer window.

Chelsea has made some questionable transfers when it comes to strikers. They should avoid doing that again by signing Erling Haaland. Chelsea should make sure they do not let this transfer elude them.

Next. Chelsea must mind the gap between midfielders and defence on transition. dark

Besides, players with initials “E. H.” have been known to work out perfectly for Chelsea.
