Chelsea predicted XI for Newcastle: After a week’s rest, time for the real work
By Travis Tyler
Jorginho, 5, Midfield, Italy
Jorginho remains the master of penalties. On that skill set, it might be possible to call him world class. He is still good at all the other stuff but there is still a sense of more being on the edge of things. With more midfielders showing their worth, Lampard will continue to play around with all the different skill sets he has available.
Mateo Kovacic, 17, Midfield, Croatia
Kovacic is Chelsea’s best “glue” player. When he is on the pitch, it is incredibly easy to link together defense and attack as well as the flanks and the central areas.
Lampard may be wary of over working him but the time off should have brought him back up to fitness. N’Golo Kante might still be injured and will probably be saved for Arsenal even if he is fit.
Ross Barkley, 8, Attacking Midfield, England
Like Christensen, Barkley came back out of nowhere and did well. While he might not press or control space like Mason Mount, Barkley can pull off some crazy passes. Of course, those passes only look good when they work and Burnley gave plenty of chance for that. Newcastle likely will too so Mount can have a rest for Arsenal and Barkley can have another go.
