Chelsea face the newly-vincible Liverpool in the FA Cup. Can the Blues end Liverpool’s hopes for a domestic double?

If only Chelsea could make an emergency signing, we might see the Blue debut of Ismaila Sarr or Troy Deeney tonight. Alas, Chelsea are not mes que un club, so they will go to war with the army they have. Anyone fancy a win?

Vansh Ambashta: Chelsea 0 – 3 Liverpool. Chelsea is struggling in all departments at the moment. The Blues have injuries, mentality issues, leadership issues. And they have a fanbase scapegoating Frank Lampard for it. Expect another average performance from them as Liverpool dominates the game.

Barrett Rouen: 2 – 1. There is literally no reason to believe this is happening, but I do nevertheless.  Chelsea are a bad side and Liverpool are a good one. That said, the Blues will take this one for no reason, either from open play or on penalties with Kepa Arrizabalaga redeeming himself by saving several.

Olaoluwa Nwobodo: 2 – 1. Why not? Both teams had disappointing results at the weekend, so both Lampard and Jurgen Klopp will be looking for a reaction. The occasion speaks for itself. This match will show if the players are self-aware enough to rise to the occasion.

Watford outplayed Liverpool and gave them a spanking with 29% of the ball. Liverpool can be beaten -enough of the “playing well and losing” nonsense. It’s time to backup good performances with good results.

Varun Dani: 3 – 0. I’m so mentally exhausted by this side at this point. They seem to get any result imaginable. So why not?

Scott Brant: 1 – 2. Gonna try a bit of superstition: if I predict the Blues to lose, hopefully that jinxes Liverpool. Anyway, the Blues are a mess currently, partly thanks to a minor injury crisis. Liverpool are coming off a los,s which will result in them refocusing for this one. Chelsea blow it late and focus on top four aspirations.

Abhishek Pancholi: 1 – 2. Frank Lampard will field a youthful side, expecting his counterpart to do likewise. Unfortunately for Chelsea, Liverpool will also start some of their more seasoned forwards who will cause a makeshift Blues defence all sorts of problems. Another bad day at the office, then.

Kevin Peacock: 2 – 0. Chelsea yoof > Liverpool yoof.

Nate Hofmann: 1 – 3. Liverpool will want to wash the taste of Premier League defeat out of their mouths as soon as possible. Luckily for them, Chelsea’s flimsy defense and crippled attack should offer the perfect target for their pent up aggression and frustration.

The only reason for hope is the potential squad rotation. Even then, Liverpool’s reserves could overpower the limited pool of options at Frank Lampard’s disposal. It won’t be as ugly as the Bayern disaster, but it certainly won’t be fun.

Hopefully we’ll see some academy kids and the return of Ruben Loftus-Cheek, otherwise this will be a generally unwatchable event.
