Pedro, 11, Right wing, Spain
Pedro was a man possessed against Liverpool as he turned back the clock. Pedro has seemingly always been ideal when the team is set up to counter at pace rather than possess to death (which makes it all the weirder Pedro came from Barcelona’s academy). Chelsea may not be able to play that way often enough, but Pedro showed his skill set for when the Blues do.
Olivier Giroud, 18, Striker, France
Tammy Abraham’s injury is still a bit of a mystery and Michy Batshuayi has settled his own score. That leaves Giroud to keep chugging along until further notice. He is at least well rested after his first half of the season. Giroud has been playing well, if not perfectly for Lampard’s set up, and the Blues should have few worries with him leading the line.
Mason Mount, 19, Left wing, England
Mount the winger may need to become a permanent thing. Yes, several players are injured but Mount simply looks so much more like himself in the wider areas. From the wing, he can roam in and attack spaces (his best trait on and off the ball) or he can stay wide and play off anyone nearby. He is having a second coming at Chelsea in his debut Blue season and the sky is the limit.
